Mom's fall from the couch was because she was in the dark, couldn't see what she was doing, and missed the chair. She told me that she now keeps a flashlight with her so she can see when she is moving. No falls since.
Mom and Dad have decided to sell the truck. Scott is going to take some pictures and put it up on KSL.com, if anyone is interested.
Tonight (Sunday) Deborah and I went out to play cards, but Scott and Nancy and their family were there, so we had a nice visit. Scott and Tyler put the cover on the swamp cooler because it had been banging and keeping Mom and Dad awake. After they left, Deborah and I stayed for a few more minutes to visit. Mom and Dad seemed tired and didn't even suggest that we start a game of cards.
That is all the news for now.

Is it November already?
Lisa had her babies last night! She had twin boys, Joel and Ethan. They were born early so both babies are in NICU. Lisa is doing fine and the boys are doing as expected. When I called Mom to let her know, Mom told me that she fell again. Last week she slipped to the floor in the middle of the night when she was moving from her chair to the couch. Dad had to call 911 to help her up. Last night, she fell from her chair. Mom told me that she fell on her face and scraped her face and nose and cut her lip. I don't quite know what to do for them at this point.
Otherwise, everything has been going as usual. I clean once a week most weeks. I did have to miss once because I was out of town for work. And I go out on Sundays and either visit or play cards (depending on if anyone else can go with me). Mom and Dad both came to our house on October 9th to celebrate Megan's and Jeff's birthdays. We had cake and ice cream and visited.
I am going out tomorrow to clean house and will check and see how Mom is doing.

It has been a busy summer....
Today is Labor Day. My last post was the end of June, that should let you know that there as been nothing new or that a lot has been happening!
I will try to catch up as well as my memory will allow. I have may calendar next to me and I will try to fill in the days of summer!
The first couple of weeks of July were the usual - I went out on Saturday (or Friday if I had to work on Saturday) to clean house and then on Sunday to play cards or visit. I am going out more by myself on Sundays, the other kids are getting busy and can't always go with. If I go alone, we can't play cards because you need an even number of people to play hand and foot.
July 16th was Draper Town Days and the week before Bill and Morgan's wedding. I had a lot that I wanted to get done that day. The week before there was a large group who went and cleaned up and trimmed the yard in preparation for the big day. Thanks to Bill and Morgan, the Hicks family and everyone else who helped. On the 16th, Becky and Tony stopped by while I was there. Tony helped to get Dad's truck moved out of the driveway so it would be easier for guests to get to the back yard for the wedding and reception. He had to jump start the truck because the battery was dead.
(I talked to Dad yesterday about moving the truck back under the carport after Carli's wedding this coming Saturday. They want to leave it where it is, so I am going to take out some plastic to cover the window that doesn't work so that it can survive the winter.)
Bill and Morgan's wedding was wonderful! It was in there backyard and it didn't rain or anything. Thanks for letting us use your yard Mom and Dad! Here is a picture:

The first week of August was very exciting for everyone! It was the Petty Family Reunion. We have a reunion every three years. We started the year of Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary. This is the third reunion, and the first to be held in Draper.
There were lots of people and activities happening through the week. On the first day, we visited with family as the came into town and ordered pizza for dinner.
Day 2 we went to Thanksgiving Point to the Dinosaur Museum and the Discovery Garden. Then we went back to Draper for Dutch Oven dinner. Mom and Dad went to the museum, then headed home for the afternoon.
Day three we all headed to Kennecott Copper Mine in the morning, then to Antelope Island and swimming in the Great Salt Lake in the afternoon. Then gathered in Draper for the traditional hot dog roast! Mom and Dad stayed home during the day, and joined us for dinner.
Here is a picture of Mom and Dad with their five kids, and a picture of the entire group that was the reunion on Friday night.

Day Four was an everyone-do-your-own-thing day. Mom and Dad stayed home. The group that I went with went shopping, to Discovery Gateway Children's Museum, to Applebee's, then to a play at the Conference Center.
Day Five was at Grandma and Grandpa's house all day. We had water play for the kids and visiting for the grownups. Then there was a bbq and pictures in the evening.
On Day Six, most everyone went home. However, a few hung at in Draper with Mom and Dad for a final visit.
Here is a picture of Mom and Dad with their five kids, and a picture of the entire group that was the reunion on Friday night.
And Mom and Dad!
Well, that gets us through to the point where I am only now one month behind.
The next Saturday, August 12th was another wedding for another grandchild. This time it was Joshua. They got married in the Jordan River Temple. Lisa and I met Mom and Dad there so that we could help them as needed. I am very happy that they were feeling up to going to the ceremony!
The next three weeks there is really no excuse for not posting. I did miss cleaning house one week because I had to work on Friday and Saturday. I have gone out every Sunday to visit or play cards. I always take one or two of the grandkids with me when I clean, it helps to keep Grandpa occupied while I am working (then he doesn't worry so much about what I am doing).
Yesterday Mom told me that Becky and Tony took them out to dinner on Saturday night and then brought them some lunch on their way out of town on Sunday. Thanks Becky!
Thanks to everyone for the help and the great family reunion!

Hooray!
Morgan went with me to Draper yesterday and helped me clean the house! Thanks Morgan!
When we were getting ready to leave, Mom asked me if I could come sometime other than between 10:30 and 12:30 on Fridays, because she wants to go to the Senior Center. Hooray! She didn't want to go before and now she does. I am going to go on Saturdays, unless I am working, then I will go on Friday afternoon.

I forgot...
I forgot to post that Mom and Dad came to Morgan's bridal shower on Saturday afternoon. I don't have a picture of Dad, who was the only man at the shower (he is confident with his masculinity), but here is one of Mom.

Three weeks....
I just typed a whole post and then lost it. Life is hard sometimes. Now I get to type the three weeks again...I hope it doesn't get lost!
First week: I didn't go out on Friday because I had to work Friday and Saturday, I made arrangements with Mom to come on Monday instead. I also didn't go out on Sunday because there was no one who could go with me to play cards, and I was going out the next morning. I did talk to Mom on the phone.
On Monday, Mom also updated me on the pain clinic visits. She only has a couple of appointments left. While the pain isn't gone, she told me that it has gone from an 8 (on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being no pain and 10 being unbearable) to a 3. I think that is very good!
Second Week: Went on Friday and cleaned the house. Dad asked me to help him move the new Jazzy from the carport. The wheels were locked and it wasn't working at all. Mom had called the company to come and get it and pick it up to be fixed. It had just stopped working except for going up and down. It does work now but I am glad that they had kept the old Jazzy around to use while it was in the shop.
On Sunday, Bill and Morgan went with me to play cards. Dad and Bill won. sigh.
Third Week: Amy went down on Friday (I had to work again) to help Mom get ready for the carpet cleaners. They were coming in the early afternoon. Amy moved furniture and vacuumed and did all that Mom told her to. Thank you Amy!
Deborah and I went out on Sunday, Father's Day. Dad had already heard from Reed, Kaylene, and Becky. Mom guessed that Nancy had to work. Mom and I won at cards. I know it was Father's Day, but no mercy!
I will try to get back to my weekly updates. I just have to be sure to write as soon as I remember and not wait.

Memorial Day Weekend
Hi There!
I didn't realize that I haven't posted for two weeks...I will try to catch up. Two weeks ago, Jane went with me to Draper. I had to work on Friday, so we went out on Saturday. Mom told me that they had gone to a cousins lunch on Friday. We cleaned and ate lunch and left. It was a normal trip. Did I ever tell you that I love normal trips to Draper?
We didn't go out on Sunday because there was a graduation party for Morgan (Bill's fiance). Mom and Dad were invited to the luncheon but they didn't come. I am not sure why.
This week, Dalton went with me for the trip on Friday. When we got there, Mom was asleep. I went in to the bedroom and woke her up. I was a little concerned because she doesn't normally sleep that time of day. But, she got up not too long after we got there and seemed as good as usual!
On Sunday, Bill and Morgan went with me to play cards. Mom didn't play, she was watching tv. Morgan and I won by less than 200 points. It was a close game.
Nancy - the lawn looked good. Thanks for what you and your family do!
Loves,
Karrie
